Re: Sherman this Sunday
Has anyone tried kiting Franks Tract on a north wind? Is it even accessible? Seems like it could fill in.

I think the only place to launch from would be off of a boat (if it's allowed). On land you'd have to use the private farmland levees to rig/launch, but they're not accessible nor ideal (and safe).ko138 wrote:Has anyone tried kiting Franks Tract on a north wind? I found this detail online... "Franks Tract is mostly 5-7 feet deep. The charted depth should mean the middle is full of Egeria (that nasty water weed). The NW "corner" is indicated at only 1-3 feet deep".
Doesn't sound enticing and probably not a good place for foilboarding. lol
On N wind days you'd be better off driving up to Lake Berryessa and taking your chances there, or coming inland to Folsom Lake or Thermalito Afterbay.
