Hi, I'm moving to San Francisco from Boston very soon, and was wondering about normal weather conditions on the bay. I'm 190lb, ride a 136cm board on 12m Convert and 9m Crossbow.
* Will that cover the expected wind range, or should I look into getting a smaller kite like a 7m?
* If I were to get another larger kite (tired of convert), would you recommend a 13m or an 11m?
Thanks guys.

New to the area as well but if you must have a two kite quiver, I would recommand a 13m since you have a 9m.
I have 8, 11 and 14m if that helps. Alos I got rid of my 2008 converts last year for a nice set of North rebels...so MUCH better!

The first thing you'll see is there is nothing normal about the wind or the riders here :)

consider a surf board to extend your range, but what you have should work at some of the many bay area sites. there's a wealth of info on the forum so read up!

I'd recommend you come here. Kite some, and then figure out what you want. Depends on where you kite and what kind of riding you like to do. If you kite waddell, you should invest in a 6 or 7, if you like Alameda, buy the 13, if you're at 3rd a lot, buy a 10.
9 and 12 is fine for now tho. until you get a feel for the options around here.

+1 for waiting until you arrive. Lots of people in the area, myself included, have the 9/12 combo and it works just fine for most conditions.
