So far this year, what spots have enough coverage for riding? I'm looking to go kiting in Tahoe around Christmas time.
-Royal Gorge / Sugar Bowl
-Martis Valley
-Rose Meadows
-Carson Pass
How do you know when the conditions are good at Carson Pass?
Who has been snowkiting this Winter 2018?

Re: Who has been snowkiting this Winter 2018?
I was at Kirkwood this past weekend. We drove by the ridge (at Carson Pass) and the coverage did not look good. Hopefully after the storm this weekend there will be enough snow.
Carson Pass usually gets hit pretty hard with snow but you need to wait until we have had at least a few big storms. This website has some info: https://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/snow/snowplot.cgi?CXSC1
In my opinion, Carson Pass is the only worthwhile snowkiting spot in Tahoe. You do need snowshoe/skin a bit, but if it sucks you can always ride kirkwood.
