Highest Real Speed to Wind Speed Ratio? STAT IT UP

Post by turbinedude » Mon Oct 05, 2015 8:57 pm

Hey BAK,

Yes I'm still healthy and kiting, been honing in some wave assisting air tricks such as backroll grabs. That's about the best I can manage down here in So Cal with 13mph wind and a 12m modded out for light wind (and that's on a good day).
Seems like the wind only gets strong enough with my setup to defeat waves about once every other week. S*urf (ARG ANGRY WAVE)

So I've turned to other stuff you can do with light wind, a kite, and a beach. First thing- kite curls... second thing- traction kiting... third thing- picking up girls. *&$#

The first two things are going great. I'm keeping in shape with the unhooked arm workouts. MJ0_ And it seems like I got a monopoly on the sand down here were I'm at. The otherday I hit 30 as confirmed by a RC car I was racing in approximately 10 mph wind.

Kinda got me thinking...

This is definitely a cool stat.
And I wonder who has bragging rights of achieving the highest ratio of real speed to wind speed?

I guess so far it's me unofficially at 3.0 II&&

P.S. This is a hint for anyone who wants to trade kites for something. I can design a solar and/or wind system for you and manage getting the permit if your county does it by email. (we're talking some good gear for that though). I can do the install too, but then we'd be talking a really solid kite vacation too like maybe a season at La Ventana.
I definitely need a 7, maybe a 9 and something better than my current low wind 12.
I really need the 7 - last week i was out in salton sea with 35 mph wind and only a 12m - unfortunately i did not feel like getting 50 feet of air at a new spot with the only good kite i have right now (2 of my kites are down for along the seam LE-bladder leaks JQI* ).
