Best Bar

Post by raztec » Mon Jul 10, 2017 11:16 pm

Newbie here looking to get the most fail safe bar that I can use with different kites (OR Prodigy and Cabrinha SB).

What's the consensus these days about which bar has the easiest, most simple release mechanism that doesn't deploy accidentally and can be reattached with ease?

Also, is it possible to use bars from one manufacturer or era with different kites from another manufacturer and era?

Thanks
Amir

Bars and kite are somewhat matched between manufacturers - Short throw vs long throw, Low V vs High V, Modern single line flag vs older two line flag systems. Worst case, there may be some minor differences in kite handling if you fly a high V kite with a love V bar.

Bar throw and line flag are critical and at the very least, you need to have some clue as to the needs of the kite so you can adapt your bar accordingly. I personally use Ozone Race bars for all my kites but I have ordered an OR Stickshift bar to see how it compares.
