Sorry for the newbie question but what do you mean by the 3rd channel sensor?

It's the best sensor to use on iKitesurf for 3rd Ave winds, but you need a pro membership to access it. See link below for membership discount.

Ha ok, thank you for the info. Do you know other sensor for the 3rd or alameda that are reliable and do not require a pro account?

For Alameda you can use the USS hornet sensor and the free webcam:

But seriously, if you drop $2,000 in equipment, you can probably spend a $100/year subscription to ikitesurf...
Or at least get it as a birthday present!
