Hey Guys,

As a newbie, I’d like to say your words haven’t completely fallen upon deaf ears. I know from reading this forum and Kiteforum for the last couple of months to take lessons, to stick with Alameda or 3rd (if I actually want wind!), to ignore Sherman until I’m bustin’ it (I was never one for helicopters, anyway), to meet the locals, to bring brewskies, and to purchase a 20m 2005 Fuel as my first kite!

I, for one, would very much appreciate it if I were to do something monumentally stupid, and I were called on it. No need to bring out the heavy artillery. So, I say keep talking to the peeps who look clueless. Even you stop just one idiot from doing something stupid, that would be great. Thanks!

Matt, you beat me to it but I completely echo your sentiments!

I imagine this is only the tip of the iceberg of stupid sh%$ that you guys see out there at Sherman and elsewhere. But, everyone was a beginner at one point, right? Weren’t you stoked on those people who took the time to share their knowledge, despite your cluelessness? Shame on those people who are too dumb to listen, but I'm really hoping you kids continue to help us newbies out (cause most of us would REALLY REALLY appreciate it) and save the bb guns as a last resort! ;) Otherwise it will feel kind of like surfing in Santa Cruz when you aren't a local...scares the chicks (like me) away too.

Yup, and I usually have plenty of delicious, cold beer and good food handy too and I will be seeking out all the good willed advise I can get. Looking forward, : ) erika
