The hardware store will make a 'dumb' copy of your key for a few bucks. Pickup a shoelace there too and make a key neclace. I keep one in the trunk of both my cars. Way easier than bagging, clipping, hiding, ect...

I found my new Audi to be pretty water sport friendly. Not only do they have a plastic valet key, the actual block key that you stick in to start the car has a metal key you can pull out that only opens the car door. Hide the other part somewhere inside or just take the whole valet one out with you instead.

Having your keys in your wetsuit HURTS badly when you go down hard, like after a blown railey/kiteloop

I use one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/HitchSafe-HS7000T ... B000I66JEM
You can find better deals out there. But, it works great. Plus if my wife needs access or if there was an emergency I could give combo and get into my truck vs. having key on my person or in the gas cap....

+1 for the key locker. I use the push button version. I can get in by feel when it is dark for the sunset/moonrise sessions.

I do crash, but I never have this problem. I think it's due to two things:zgur wrote:Having your keys in your wetsuit HURTS badly when you go down hard, like after a blown railey/kiteloop
1) The key is triple bagged. The bags themselves create a little cushion, and there's always a little bit of air in one or more of the bags so it's as thought the key is wrapped in bubble-wrap.
2) I wear an impact vest. The key is over my chest so it's inside the vest.

All I know is if you asked Christopher Walkens this question he would tell you to store the key in your ass.

It's Walken, no 's' on the end. But maybe I can store my key and kite pump there.windhorny wrote:All I know is if you asked Christopher Walkens this question he would tell you to store the key in your ass.
