you know what the problem is? there aren't enough spectators. hear me out here.
at places like 3rd ave, sherman, waddell, all the riders ride in the same spot, in good view of spectators and relatively close to the launch. my guess, is that if there were more spectators, at different locations, the riders would spread out in order to show off for them as well. For instance, if we paid a bunch of really hot girls to sit and cheer on kiters in the upwind bay at 3rd ave, I have a feeling there'd be a good number of kiters working their way up there...(no offense to the lady kiters out there, but most of the people crowding the water ARE guys)

groupies
This is all starting to sound like to much fun....adam are you implying that kiters have ego and like to be watched????? omg  I thought that everyone @ sherman did tricks close to shore so that if/when things go wrong, the swim is not too long.......hmmmm, clearly not clued in enough....
...to make sure that I am "clued in":
* Adam is hiring hot galls to hang out upwind @ thurd....starting when?
* Monkey is BYOG (brining his own groupies), again, where/when?
* What about a crew @ sherm? Rita? Big D? Eddie?....oh right, the season is over there. Never mind.
Trying to keep it all squared up......Z

Shuttle boat to the second island and free beer at SI would probably take care of it. Put an ad on Craigslist:
"Free beach vacation including boat ride and refreshments, 80 degrees and sunny guaranteed."
There are lots of people in the Bay Area who have no idea there's a beach an hour away with warm air and warm water. Who cares if it's only 50 ft. wide.
