I actually stuck with the CC bar all season as well. I had a number of problems at first with the chicken loop QR and leash safety opening unintentially (resulting in a torn kite unfortunately :-x ), and the spinning leash / cl have some issues, but since then I've worked the bugs out and am happy with it.Pablito wrote: It seemed like Dewey, Ollie, and others gave up on the CC bar half way through the season. Are you guys game for trying the new setup?
A while back WW promised on their message board that they would give the '06 upgraded parts (which apparently should fix all of my issues above) for free to '05 bar users. Hopefully that's true... I love the idea of the CC bar and I have high hopes for the '06 version.

Let me guess: Self-rescue, leash pops open, kite goes byebye, hits sharp object?
I used the B-Safe bar all summer and only had one small problem with it which was easily corrected and didn't cause any problems while kiting. I actually think the EJECT release cuff works really well; I have used it in several sticky situations where I don't think I would have been able to pull the QR on my other bar nearly as quickly.

Pablito got it right... leash released and kite got loose and ran into some rocks. I still have traumatic memories of swimming as fast as I could after it but not quite being able to catch up. That said, it did give me a good lesson in kite repair and I think all of the sail tape adds "character" to the kite.elli wrote:Torn kite :?: I used the safety leash on my kites many times and never thought it can damage the kite (it never did). How did that happen?exsailor wrote:leash safety opening unintentially (resulting in a torn kite unfortunately :-x )
