I just checked, a passport is still not required to travel to Mexico. You should be able to get by with a certified copy (with the stamp thing) of your birth certificate. (Looks like the US intends to change this as of 2008)charlie wrote:you poke n that at me....
big guy?...
dave i was lookn forword to rain kiteing alameda, any time SOON.
...now iam getting a passport!
A passport is a good thing to have, but if you are traveling any time soon, you're probably going to have the process expedited. Get on it.

Ditto on the Travelocity car suggestion. I paid $138 a week for a new Sentra which handles beautifully at 80 kph on the San Antonio Road! The suspension is now fully broken (in) and rally-style drifting is an essential skill for Mexico. Think of it as "snow training".
Hope to see you guys in Alameda very soon for some rain kiting. Is it really that good on low tides or just better than nothin'? Maybe I'm missing something.
And no, Sir Charles, I was not calling you out specifically you crazy bastard. Regarding passports: I got in and out of Mexico with a notarized birth certificate and a valid CA driver's license. After all, I was a "golfer"? Wear your LaCoste shirt and you're in! Har-de-har-har!
OG: What are you thinking? FL frontal-wind with strangers versus BCS thermal-wind with friends? Dinner time in LaV means walking into any given restaurant and sitting down with a half-dozen homeboys(girls). Plus, no fried foods to clog the arteries!

BigD: Yes, you may have something there! I'm still just playing around, no plans yet, it's just entertaining to think of the possibilities. I could go to Maui, SPI, FL, Baja, but seems most things, including this thread and stories, keep pointing me back to Baja.fearlu wrote: Wear your LaCoste shirt and you're in! Har-de-har-har!

Hopefully, there will be room for me there and I also hope to get the same car that you have broken (in). Har-de-har-har!
OK..sorry for pimiping the kites...bad form and all. Hey, one thing constructive for folks coming down here. Bring some booties. Yeah, I know that it is nicer without them, and I do not wear them in the bay, but I whacked my ankle on a rock today.....no bueno.....
Ollie, I second Dave, that you would rather be here....The only prob I have is trying to keep the bod intact with daily kiting after a two month layoff. Yesterday was the worst day of the trip, and I had bit over a 1/2 hour on the 12 before dealing with a crissy type shut down. Today, back to six hours of 12 kiting. Try that on your winter muscles for 6 days in a row. Pain vs. pleasure..... Of course, I do not recover like my kids Alex and Brian, but whatever....no complaining, as it is a good problem. I could not ask more than what this place has delivered as far as a kiting spot - except waves....Talk to Byro and Chad about Brazil....well, there is always next year. Merry X mas from La Ventana!
