Seeking kite board lessons - will pay

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to find someone interested in showing me the ropes generally. I have a lot of experience surfing, etc. so balance isn't as important as things specific to kiteboarding that I may not know enough about (safety precautions, etc.).

If you are in the bay area and interested in being paid to give some pointers, shoot me a pm. Also, I don't have a board/kite, so I'd need to borrow one during the lessons.

Thanks!

You're doing the right thing asking for lessons in learning to kite surf. I recommend going with a professional outfit/kite school vs. getting some random person to try to teach you. Lot's of folks think they could teach you the ropes (pun intended), but you'll hurt yourself or someone around you if you don't get it right. Professional instructors are, well, professional instructors.

Depending on how soon you're looking to start, you may want to contact Nat Lincoln of Edge Kiteboarding. 775-721-1132. He's just back into the US from the winter season (he teaches year-round) in La Ventana, Baja. Tell him I sent you...

check out Helm Sports (helmsports.com)
Their primary instructor is Tony Parsons at 3rd Ave. Great guy, and a great way to learn to ride!

Go see Nat at Edge Kiteboarding:

(775) 721-1132
edgekiteboarding@yahoo.com

Best location at Sherman Island. Nat takes you by boat to a safe location up river away from crowds. Ideal way to learn....it's warmer there too!
