Toll Plaza Thursday

After driving out there three different times I finally launched from TP. Kudos to Royce for grooming my lines during launch, some strange items wash up on that beach. A little lite just offshore but then I was further upwind of berkeley then I've ever been and that includes pole surfing. Felt like I could have gone to treasure island but stayed nearby on case of wind dying. It was still blowing nice near shore when I came in. Seems like a better launch than emery point but probably I caught it at the right time and direction. If the wind dies and you are out by the pier you're a long way from home boss.

What color kite do you have? Green Key?
I got out early and it was pretty good.
FYI, speaking of debris on the beach, we'd like to organize a beach clean up there soon as much of the area is filthy with all kinds of debris around. So we will work on that soon.

Androka,
Yeah that was fishing line. BTW if the wind dies on you here no worries just drift in past the towers where it is extremely shallow and it is just a short walk across the slough to get back. I usually walk out about 50 yrds to the wind line and try to stay just upwind of the beach where it seems to always be a little stronger.
Ollie, That is a much needed great idea. We would be happy to help out with our staff but would greatly appreciate more helping hands. Please pick a day or evening and we can all make it happen. We can haul it all away in the van and or your truck. Maybe on a skunk day?
I have the garbage bags as well and will chain a flip lid trash bin to the beach next week, which we will empty during the summer.
Stoked to see kiters here almost daily now. This is an awesome spot. We will need to rename it Kief's beach soon =-

From the ones we've done at Berkeley in years past, it seems Saturday mornings are best as mostly everyone is available, no wind distractions, it's cooler. We just show up with coffee, bags, rakes, gloves, wheelbarrows (you already have the 4wd carts), etc. and get down to it. A couple hours and it's done, everyone takes off then later in the afternoon if winds are good we can enjoy the "new" beach. We can use my truck for the bags and if needed your van and then all throw in $5 for the dump run to Berkeley.
So maybe next Saturday the 19th, or the one after Memorial day, June 2?
Chaining up a can is a great idea, perhaps many would be inclined to use it if it's there.

Is the only access 80-W prior to the toll booths?

I'd be down for helping clean the beach at the TP.
I can't make either of those dates (5/19 or 6/2), but if it happens a different day, I'm there.

I am happy to help clean the beach. Can only do it on 5/19; I will not be available on 6/2.

Make that Toll Plaza Friday too!
So how was the wind at Emery Point/Berkeley
these past two days?
Today I could have made it to TI but didn't
need to, wind and water was great. Both
times I had to work it to get out past the boat
Channel markers but still way better then slogging
Berkeley.
