New to the Bay Area...looking for kiting spots

Hey all,
Just moved down Vancouver, BC to Novato.
Any suggestions on places to kite when the season begins (march?)?
I am used to driving an hour to kite in squamish, so long drives are okay. I enjoy the surf, and any spot that's consistent.
Many thanks!

Larkspur is your closest launch although it's a little janky. tide dependent, 15 minute walk from parking lot, flukey, gusty wind.
Dillon Beach is your closest wave spot. NW winds should be starting in a month or two.
Marina Bay, Berkeley, Race Track, Toll Plaza, Alameda are all well within an hour of Novato. Sherman Island is a bit further
Season begins with NW winds. Usually sometime in May SW thermals start. Late season NW comes back. Check local info for which sites work with which direction.

Check this out for local info:

Keep in mind that some of the areas described see very few kiters. The best places to check out would be Crissy Field, 3rd Ave, Alameda, Sherman Island, and Waddell Creek. Waddell Creek for surf, 3rd Ave and Sherman Island for consistent wind, Crissy Field for world class views (but very tricky conditions, read up and talk to locals before going there), Alameda in the spring time for fun and the safest conditions (except for all the beginners to watch out for). Up north, Bodega Bay is your best option.

There's kiteboarding in the bay area? Lies and slander...there's no kiteboarding here.
These are not the spots you are looking for...Move along...
