Really cool looking board from OR. Good video explaining the tech, and makes me miss the PNW! Looks like it would be a ton of fun on the coast, and the size puts it in the travel surfboard range. Rumors are these guys will be down here in June for demos; I can't wait to try it!

mako twintip fan since I started kiting. started learning directional at the end of last season. wondered why everyone was saying surfboards are smoother riding than twintips. just like the mako twintips the duke eats chop for breakfast. the curved deck reminds me of riding a windsurfer.

the main advantage for me is the stability while i work on the footwork in the turns. compared to a couple other surfboards i tried foot position didn't seem to matter as much if it was a little off. good upwind performance and it turns on a dime. i imagine the new model with a quad fin setup might be even turnier. very sturdy construction. OR also makes the jester which is shorter and not as floaty which I'd like to try.

it takes a little getting used to after riding other surfboards. it doesn't like to be edged too hard.

it feels a tad slower than other directionals I've tried but that may be because I was used to bouncing in the chop on other boards.

I have had this board for some time. I use it on the Bay and used to use it on Great Lakes. Amazing board in chop or mushy wind swell.

However; I don't use it on the Coast. A regular high performance shortboard or Tomo shapes work much better in more powerful waves. At least for me.
