Webbing slippage in harness

Hello
I have an Ion boardshorts harness that I really like, though I have to tighten the straps quite often during a session, since the webbing slips quite a bit.

I wonder if the webbing is set up correctly. The way it is the webbing comes from behind the buckle, goes through it and exits the front, and that's it. My guess is that ideally the webbing would pass twice through the buckle to unload the direct force....

I have the same problem with my B2 shorts. I use them only at 3rd or Sherman when it's really nuking and I'm boosting big, which is also when loads are highest in the harness and I get the slippage. At the coast or on the foil I prefer the waist harness and need the rotation. I don't think you've routed the webbing incorrectly, I think it's just a design issue (I hesitate to use the term flaw:). The buckles should have a cam that tighten under load, or at least routing that results in greater surface area on the webbing.

Thanks. I will look for other buckles that I could replace. Sometimes it slips so much the spreader bar comes about 3 inches from my body. Not good.

Same issue...

I ended up switching to another harness. Too much hassle to deal with in the end. Received new buckles but a pain to switch and eventually end up with the same issue.

Update: I filed ths buckles a little bit, where the teeth are supposed to bite. This alone has now almost eliminated slipping. I also ordered stainless steel sliders to attach to the end of the webbing and keep it close to the buckle so there's no chance of slippage. Haven't gotten the sliders yet.

Sorry guys, I almost never monitor this forum, but just tuned in and saw this. Not to stir up an old issue, but if you're having problems we have an updated buckle that I can ship you. Just PM or email me with your address and how many you need and I can get them to you. If it's a pain to switch them out (should just be a bolt you undo, though I know it can be annoying) you can always send it to your dealer and they can switch them out for you. We saw a bunch of last year's B2 buckles slip, but the replacement buckles have had a zero failure rate so it should sort you completely once you switch them out.

If you've already given up and gotten a different harness I don't blame you, but if it helps PM/email me and I'll be happy to offer you a low cost replacement pricing for any Ion item in the future by way of apology.

And if anyone has an issue with any North or Ion product in the future, you should contact your dealer or feel free to PM me here or email me direct at dans@northsports.com.
