Alameda Parking fee on weekdays = Lame!

When did Crown Beach start charging for parking on a weekdays? I get it on weekends but come on! I pay ridiculous taxes to live in Alameda and you nickle and dime us to park at a public beach? I assume this is because it was windy and kiters must have money but this is the first I have seen this on a weekday. Discuss....

Well, can't do anything about it now. A State measure was put up for vote a few years ago to tax all California residents annually, in return, Californians will have unlimited access to all CA State Parks. Non residnts have to pay. The measure lost, so charging parking is one of the ways to keep parks open. That was also the time where a number of oarks were closed due to lack of funding.

Pay tp park has been going on alooong time
Memorial day to Labor Day as school is out
Come after 4:30
You can also get a season pass for 50 bucks it works on some other parks too

I just park on the street, feel bad for residents and beach goers as this just adds to the problem.

Well...In this day and age...."If you wanna play, you gotta pay"!! I was a little shocked when I rolled into the parking lot and had to pay the $5.00 parking fee, but hey, the park is well maintained and generally clean, and probably safer than parking curbside.
Well worth the fee in my opinion!
