Guys,
I know this question has been asked before but given that kites get better every year I wanted to ask it again.
I'm thinking of buying new freeride kite. I'm intermediate, love jumps and big air, don't do unhooked, starting to learn waves but mostly enjoy riding my twin tip in flat/semi-flat spots. In the Bay Area I mostly go to 3rd Ave and sometimes for extra adrenaline to Wadell :-)
I'm 160lbs. I have 2013 RRD Obsession 10.5m and on 3rd Ave it's usually bearly enough for me so I ride fully powered. When it's really cranking at Wadell I used my 7m Obsession a few times.
I'm thinking of buying North Evo and need to figure out what sizes. Found a guy who's selling 12m and 9m Evos. I'm a little concerned that 12m may be too much for Bay Area wind for me, or would I be able to hold it down? I don't mind being a little overpowered...
I'm concerned that 9m Evo may not be enough. Feels like Evo 10m would have been perfect, so maybe I should get 7m and 10m Evos and keep my 13.5m Obession for light wind?
What size kite do you guys think I need?
And what do you all think of Evos (if you have suggestions for other kites for my style I'd love to hear ideas).

Re: Kite size for 3rd Ave
I'm not sure about the Evo's range but I've been riding Vegases for the past decade and I may have owned a 12m twice in that time. Each time I've come to the conclusion that the 12m is not necessary for the winds in the bay area. 10m is the biggest size I have and I'm about your weight.

7/9/12 is the quiver I've always gone with. Even have a 15m since I work in Alameda.
Listing gear is bad, and you should feel bad.

Same here, though I rarely use my 7 it is nice to not be sitting on the beach.

At your weight on a TT that sounds like a great quiver. Don't get the 9/12 if you already have a 13.5.koollx wrote:so maybe I should get 7m and 10m Evos and keep my 13.5m Obession for light wind?
Cheers.
