TODAY...W WINDS 10 TO 15 KT...
INCREASING TO 15 TO 25 KT IN THE AFTERNOON. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS. .
But is it good enough to blow off work, fill up the truck, spend 3 hrs driving ????

Hell yeah, I think it will happen. I just spent the last two days at Sherman and the PM sessions were fantastic-- sun, wind, and no crowds! There were about 8 people Saturday and about 5 yesterday. I flew my Rhino 14 both days and got litt by the time I came in-- blowing 20+.
Unfortunately I can't go today, but get the fall action while it lasts!

iK says high teens in the afternoon (or not...)
"Sherman PM upper teens. Chance gusty mid/upper teens Bodega, Waddell, Crissy, TI., Coyote & 3rd. Ave. Clearing time critical.
A large scale, fairly chilly fall trough continues to sweep across the Pacific NW and right thru NorCal this AM dragging along a shortwave feature for the ride. As this wave kicks on thru the region mid-day, we'll see NW flow on the increase as the Pacific High crams some isobars against the coast. The biggest question we've got to address is whether we can coax some critical PM sunshine to join in and accelerate winds in the process.
Cool air inland and / or clouds lingering into the PM will be the major inhibitors here for wind. If clearing is early then we may see stronger winds than forecast. If clouds linger past 1PM then the forecast wind wills be delayed until TUE."

Rich, it came up around 3pm both days. It started out mid/upper teens then went to 20 (20+ yesterday). Just FYI the ik forecast was exactly the same both days as it is today.
I'd say watch it build and then go if the trend looks good. That's what I did both days.

Go for it
First of all - always have your gear ready/in the car just in case things unfold and you need/can hit it.....you will be amazed how many more days you can get this way......
that aside.....it will be a good day today at SI, not too windy, just solid.
Get it while it's going.
Tell us how it went.

Z Man,
You obviously do know me very well, not only do I have my gear ready to go at a moments notice like a soldier or a fire fighter but I often bring my entire arsenel of Kite / windsurfing gear in a trailer so I have everything I could ever need...
OK, so who wants to meet me down there?
Give me a call if you like

There'll be plenty of people down there if it's windy. Haven't had to self-launch or land once in the last two weeks.
BTW, I would contest Upwind Dave's characterization of Saturday as good. I got there at 4:30, right as the wind shifted to the SW and died off. Went out anyway, but then it just got worse.
SW is not a favorable direction at Sherman. Also, this time of year it seems like there is no "normal" and one day can be completely different from the next. That's certainly what happened Friday (which was awesome for a while) and Saturday.
Ikite's forecasts lately have been showing Sherman best from noon until four; they also have noted the tendency of the wind to cant to the SW after that. This makes weekday kiting tough; not like summer's sunset sessions.
