? Light wind kite w/light bar pressure

Hey There,

Looking for a light wind kite (11M or 12M) with light bar pressure. I have flown my boyfriends kite (12M North Rebel 2008) on light days, but last only 20 minutes b/c the bar pressure is too much for my forearms. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Lisa

Coming from the rebels, i found the RRD obsession to be a perfect kite. The bar pressure is not so light it just yanks down from your arms weight. It offers feedback that is not tiring at all. Also, it is a bridled kite so it inherently has more low end. AND the kites are very fast. A 12 would get you very far at your size.

Hope all is well.

I second that, I have flown my 12m In 15 mph, on a surfboard. I'm not a light weight person (208lbs)

Try the 10.5 Obsession. Perfect kite for your light wind days. Plenty of range with a perfect amount of Ligjt bar pressure.

I would also sugest ozone kites. they have the lightest bar pressure of any kite i have ever flown. The 11m and bigger have lots of power, but you could sheet in and steer with a pinky. they even have a light wind version that has fewer struts.

Good to know about Ozone - my largest kite is a 9M (which is great in light wind - just looking for a larger kite to kite in 10 kts), so was not sure about the bar pressure of the 11M. I did fly a 13M once, but that was a few years ago....

Hopefully, I will be back in SF in May - where I will not even need a light wind kite : )

After living in Hatteras, still think SF Bay Area is the best place to live & kite!

Kitedancer,
seeing the equipment you fly..the logic says to keep the same brand. I have tried the Ozone kites and they seem to have light bar pressure. I have also tried the Zephyr their light wind kite and the bar pressure is also super light. But not sure if you need that big of a kite. It was pretty fast consider its size (think it was a 19M). At 3rd in Foster city, we have a gentleman by the name of Hoc. Although he is about 125lbs, he can make his 9M/11M work in crazy light condition! I don't fly Ozone but a different european brand. The bar pressure is also very light...and it turns out, that's the way I like them.
I guess you could go for the RRD( or any other brands) but having an extra bar and an extra kite (that does not feel like the other kites you own)...would it be practical?
Funny the Hatteras crew says their riding spots is the best.good to hear that you have been at both places ad you still think the bay area is better!
