Avoiding ALAMEDA over the 4th of July Holiday.

I know this comes up every year so I thought I would post again. Unless you have pretty good kite skills do the community a favor and go somewhere else or do what you do when your not on the water ( drink, hit the bong, skateboard, whatever) The beach is going to be packed with kids and Oakland thugs. I have learned from experience sometimes they aren't quite as friendly after a couple drinks and probably don't want some beginner dumping a kite on their head.

thanks for posting, i almost did the same post myself.
In general NO one should kite on 4th unless it is windy enough to scare people away from the beach.

that's usually the problem. people go out in no wind and swipe their kites through hords of families.
