Hey guys, I figure many of you would be interested in this event. We would welcome you to join us.
We hope to have a competitive fleet, and it is scheduled for the middle of our wind season. This event will also be our National Champs, but is open entry for international competitors by being double-billed as the 2010 West Coast Open.

Squamish is a close drive from Vancouver, which should be a direct flight from your area.

NOTICE OF RACE

2010 WEST COAST OPEN KITEBOARD REGATTA
& 2010 Canadian National Championships.
August 20‐22, 2010. Squamish, BC, Canada

The Squamish Windsports Society is pleased to announce the 2010 West Coast Open Regatta, open to international competitors held concurrently with the 2010 Canadian National Championships for Canadian Citizens.
1.0 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing: Experimental Kiteboarding Competition Rules 2009‐2012.
2.0 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 To be eligible to race, kiteboarders must abide by SWS day use regulations and sign appropriate waiver forms OR be SWS Members in good standing. Forms and waivers must be completed prior to racing.
2.2 Racers must complete a Registration Form and Waiver of Liability at race day or submitted to Race Director at Orientation or prior to the Riders Meeting on August 21.
2.3 Racers must register and pay in full prior to end of day, August 20th, 2010.
2.4 Registration and payment is online at http://www.SquamishWindsports.com/regatta2010 via PayPal or Credit Card.
3.0 FEES
3.1 Entry fee is $85. (payment online).
3.2 Pre‐Registration: Riders registering online before August 9th will instead pay a discounted Entry Fee of $65. (payment online).
4.0 SCHEDULE
4.1 Racing shall occur on Saturday, August 21st and Sunday, August 22nd.
4.2 A mandatory Riders Meeting will be held each day at 1100 hours.
4.3 The first possible start is scheduled at 1200 hours and the last possible start scheduled at 1700 hours for Aug 21, and last possible start scheduled at 1530 hours for Aug 22.
4.4 Competitors will be given a mid‐day break. Lunches provided.
4.5 Orientation & final registration shall be held Friday, August 20th, at 1800 hours (not mandatory).
5.0 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 Copies of the Sailing Instructions will be available during Orientation, Riders Meeting and on Event Website.
6.0 RACING AREA
6.1 The race area will be set with marks in the bay adjacent to Squamish, BC, Canada. Details in Sailing instructions.
6.2 Event area will be alternating between “The Spit” Windsports Park and Nexen Beach, Squamish, pending weather conditions. Details and updates at Orientation, Riders Meetings, and posted online at Event Website.
7.0 SCORING
7.1 A description of scoring will be outlined in the Sailing Instructions.
7.2 Rankings will be for 2010 West Coast Open Regatta, with divisions for both Men & Women.
7.3 In addition, Racers hailing from Canada shall also be ranked concurrently for the 2010 Canadian National Championships.
8.0 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
8.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, decision to race. The organizers will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
