Jack told me that the cam is out for repair right now. Sony received it but he hasn't got an estimate yet. Should probably take a month to get it all back and sorted out. He also tries to get funding from the 3rd "Jay Fund" as well as SFBA. I am sure we will hear when he needs more money.
I was at 3rd several times and the winter was not too bad to the beach as the last ones. Still a little bit left ...

on that note, if you use the cam, and haven't contributed $$ to it, you really should...search back on this forum, I know we covered this issue before.

BTW you can still look at the Boardsports Girls CAM at Coyote Pt.

At least gives you some idea what to expect.
Ollie you should probably add this to your Cams webpage

Agreed with Willy T - would definitely contribute to the webcam if someone can post a link or instructions on how to do so. Searched on the forum for webcam and of course came with more than 14 pages of posts...

I originally purchased the camera 7 years ago and then collected money from some of the 3rd ave regulars to help cover the cost. I was planning on collecting money again in case of repairs or having to replace the camera and I kind got the impression that Jack will handle it so I backed off. I think Jack has a paypal account and I will ask him to post it here.

I have the Sony out for service. The cost of repairs and shipping will be close to $400. I hope to have the camera back in service by the end of April.
My paypal account is:
jhodgesatmb@gmail.com
That said, I believe this sum should be paid for from our SFBA fund

PayPal is easy, but doesn't it require fees to take the money out? If so, I'd rather put cash in Jack's hands for the camera repair than Meg Whitman's next campaign.
Today seems like one of days that might fill in a little. Just a gut feeling, and not just because I'm stuck at work all day. Alameda had some trees moving when I left a meeting there this morning.

nah, paypal is free as long as it's a personal account and you mark the transfer as a "cash advance". If you say it's for goods, they charge tax. If you fund the payment with a credit card, they also charge a fee, so fund it with a bank account.
