2 weeks in La Ventana/Los Barrillos? waves? surf?

Hi! I am close to pulling the trigger on a trip south for 2 weeks at end of December/beginning of January to los barillos(leaning) or la ventana. We can get direct flights to los cabos and i can use miles so super easy compared to other spots that may be more wave centric-thinking puerto rico. 2 weeks seems to be a good amount of time to not get skunked.

She is concerned that when she is not taking kite lessons(first timer) that there will not be a whole lot to do. Can someone help me with some points other than what i have read to make her more comfortable with the trip? Also, is there any surfing in the area for me to bring my short board and her to get in?

Will I get bored with 2 weeks if there are no waves?
thanks

You will not get bored, even if there's little wind. 2 weeks is a bare minimum to even adapt to the pace. If there is no wind, or you need a break from kiting you can simply enjoy the beach, head to La Paz for the day, take a trip to the West coast for surf -- I'm not sure of nearby beginner surfing spots, but there might be some. The scenery is simply gorgeous, so if you're into hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking you can't go wrong. There's some decent snorkeling as well, fishing trips with the guys from Palapas Ventana or one of the Pangas….. Some other fun day trips are to Todos Santos for shopping etc, or the sleepy old silver mine town of El Triunfo.

Puerto Rico doesn't suck either I imagine :)
