Greeting's All,
I am contemplating a trip to Costa Rica as I really enjoyed the vibe when I was last there several years ago...and I am aiming towards Feb/Mar for Mal Pais...a Muy Fun surf spot!! But, I wasn't yet into Kiting, and I am wondering if anyone can enlighten me from their own experience in traveling there. I have stayed at the Mal Pais Surf Camp, (Great Place) and plan on going their again.
I am considering the Yay-or-Nay's of bringing my own gear...maybe 9 & !2m and twin-tip in my travel bag...I have heard of airlines charging alot for large bags though, so I am not sure.
Anyway...any advice and/or experience would be Greatly Appreciated!!
Thanx!!! XZSD

It was gusty but fun.

hi I am in Bahia de Salinas,
the wind has been up and down,
I have ridden 4m,5m,7m,10m,
Next week starting Sat forecast is for nuking wind all week see :
http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=29853
see the Pozuelo modification (under OPTIONS menu) to get the actual windspeed (or add 70%), this is usual pretty on track especially up to 3 days in advance.
However Bob has been running regular trips to lake Nicaragua
When it's nuking here it is reported generally quite good and much steadier wind up there.

Lake Arenal is pretty cool - great views of the volcano and chill vibes.
