Good news, my wife won some free plan tickets to HI. Bad news, debating where to go.

I have read many reviews from the forum of both Kauai and Maui. Has anyone been to both spots? Where would you go back too?

For Maui, we are thinking of staying in Paia in the north.

For Kauai, we are thinking of staying south near Poipu.

I am an intermediate (easily going upwind and downwind / many transitions / teeny airs / lots of practice self rescuing) kite boarder, mostly kiting Sherman and Crissy field.

Does anyone have suggestions on kite spots good for an intermediate and good for my wife (non kiter / windsurfer) to chill at?

Does anyone know of great resources for more research?

no one helped us out, so we are comitted to Maui now. Paia. Will update you guys on the action! cant wait to kite in some warm water!

We are having a Sherman party in Kihei from the 6th to the 25th ish..

Maui is alright in my book.

Trip was canceled, unless you know where to get some good flights. our Airline went bankrupt...

I think my wife just got our refund on the lodging... Planning on heading somewhere else now.
