Hey,
I am a wakestyle addict and looking for good flatwater in the Palo Alto area or a bit closer than Sherman.
Thank You.

there is really only 3rd ave down there. There are days where it can be buttery but only as a result of equalized tides and thermal winds. I have heard there is a spot up from the upper launch that is protected a bit more but dont know if the water is glassy or not. nothing will come close to sherman's butter behind the islands.

On a NW wind you can kite behind the shoal between coyote and 3rd. It is hard to get to, there are obstacles, and the wind is not filled in unless its NW.

oh yeah, wait a couple years and the upper launch at 3rd ave will be a really nice flat water spot. :P

under of the center of the Golden gate bridge yesterday was smooth as butter.. and i mean like riding behind the island at Sherman with 25mph winds.
It was super sketchy getting out but absolute butter out in the middle
Brooks Island also has some good flatwater on the right conditions

Not exactly fun trying new tricks in HMB when the water is 45 and its pouring about and inch of rain an hour. I'd like to find a flat water place in the bay that gets consistant winds like 3rd.

In between the rollers at OB last night!
The middle of the gate on a light flood, like Erin said. Thats the flatest water I've ever seen in the bay.
