YeeHaw! Looks like I'm gonna get worked; I've been looking forward to playing in those waves since last year! Rock on! :supz:

?Anybody got any alternative routes for heading to 101 without having to hit the maze??

You can take 4 to 242 to 24 to 680 to 580 to 238 to 880 to 101 and save yourself lots of time...

Leanne, you might want to consider skipping the Bay Area completely, head down 5 and then cross to Gilroy at San Luis Reservoir. Depending on what time you are heading south on which day (like Friday afternoon) it can save you 2 hours.

If you do head west, the straightest route for you is just to take 680 all the way south to 880 and then 101. No reason to go anywhere near the Bay Bridge.

It says 10M, but it's really a 9.

My wife expressed interest in maybe renting an ATV or dune buggy.

She'll likely want to do this while the Xpo is going on. Is anyone going with someone who might like to buddy-up and play in the dunes?

If so, PM me!

So do people party on Friday night as well or just Saturday night? I'm debating whether we should camp on the way down there and arrive early on Saturday or keep cruising even if it gets a bit late so we can hang out with everyone that's already down there on Friday night.

Thanks folks! I'm thinking I'll head down Hwy 5. I'm leaving early Fri am in no particular hurry. And I really just don't want to deal with ANY Bay Area traffic (if at all possible!) See ya on the water! :) lg

We are very stoked that Slingshot will also be participating in this year's KiteXpo and will have their full product line, including the new T2s, available for demo! Unfortunately, Flysurfer had to pull out as they did not get their product in on time...

Also, be sure to get raffle tickets for killer swag and gear! The raffle will be held on Sunday between 1 and 3p sometime, depending on wind/weather.

FIRST PRIZE: BEST YARGA HYBRID SLE, 9m

The Yarga Hybrid is designed to offer perfect kite performance to all riders of all abilities, no matter what style of kite they prefer. Designed with 4 different rigging styles in mind the Yarga Hybrid delivers 4-line, 5th-line, SLE and SLE + 5th-line riding and performance all from the same kite. If you want SLE style depower and safety mixed with C-kite handling and the ultimate freestyle ability then give the new Yarga Hybrid a try. Four kites in one, ride it your way.

SECOND PRIZE: LIQUID FORCE SURF KITEBOARD
Image
The 6í0î Surfboard is a proven progressive surf shape that enables the kiteboarder or surfer to ride waves with or without foot straps. This board can also be paddled and surfed as a regular surfboard when there is no wind. This progressive thruster short-board design features a single to double concave bottom out the back, for acceleration and control on the wave face.

The 5í8î Surfboard is a smaller board that features a round-pin tail shape. The 5.8 is designed for riding larger waves in more extreme wind and surf conditions. This thruster design features a slight ìVî entry to smooth out the ride, and a double concave out the back, for acceleration and control on the wave face.

Both boards offer a true polyurethane construction to give the rider the true surfboard feel. These boards come stock with duel entry ìRadiusî foot-straps and an EVA tail pad.

THIRD PRIZE: LITEWAVE GOLF TRAVEL BAG

New for í07, Litewaveís new golf travel bag fits two boards and two kites comfortably. The high quality bag is 61" x 18", and is made of rugged black cordura with a fully padded exterior and a handy, easy to acess Velcro pouch for accessories. Features include an oversized, smooth sliding zipper; large wheels and an integrated skid plate so your bag doesnít rip apart when dragging over uneven surfaces; molded rubber end grab handles with center cinch straps; and a large ìGolf Limitedî graphic on the exterior to slide it by airlines that charge fees for board bags -- just keep it under 50 pounds!

Plus a bunch of sweatshirts, shirts, hats, footstraps, pads, and more to be raffled off.. Tickets are $1 each....

Haha, great answer Gabe! So you'll be partying right on the beach? It's my first trip down there so wanna make sure we can find the right place. Any tips on finding the main spot? I assume people will hang out by the designated bonfire spot at night? Or does everyone just bounce after riding?

Thanks.
