And since you'll be the only person in NorCal riding a Flysurfer, it shouldn't be hard to find you...

Hey Grumpy, don't be so grumpy....but if it's about all you can take, we apologize.
OB, I think, is great for kiters. Unfortunately, I haven't been hitting it much in the last year, but will in 09 for sure as I miss it. It has everything an intermediate to advanced kiter could want. As far as waves, if you need a clean set up and predictable swell, it may not be for you. If you don't mind having fun, stomping through whitewater, channels, and looking for openings and charging through them making your way outside, it's super fun. If you like working a bit to find what can be big surf and waves, it's a blast. If you like taking a break and sending it freestyle on the inside in big stretches of flat water, it's awesome. If you like making your way out through fun chaos and getting your senses and energy up and then coming back in blazing heelside (some of us like that) along the face of a wave and looking over your shoulder to see it breaking hard right behind and on top of you, it's killer. And, there's always plenty of room. OB is really good as it is challenging in may ways and makes you a better kiter. OB is what you make of it.

Re: One month visit in SF
Flight tickets purchased! I now need to find a board (AF/Delta wanted 300 euros to carry my surfboard, crazy people! Of course, if I would have to carry a golf bag no problem). Anyway, i can carry my kites in a normal case and buy a board in the US (i will send it back by postmail or sell it before leaving) - looking for a 6'2/6'1 Santa Cruz or equivalent (so that I can surf and kitesurf with it). Does anyone know where I can get NSI or surftech pads with integrated footstraps in SF?
Anyway, i hope to see some of you while there.
@ vdeub: I'll pm you when I'm there.
Ate logo and many thanks for the advices,
Stef
