Cloud Kites Control System reviews anyone?

looks like Boardriding Maui finally released their new control bar. does anyone have hands on experience with it and want to give a review? some of the feartures look enticing but they're also a big shift from the norm... curious how it plays out in action...

That's the link. I have a fair bit of time on the new BRM "Connection System" bar and am always happy to answer any questions. I also have demo gear if you want to try it out -- 2 bars + 5/7/9/12m Cloud kites.

I have it for about 2 weeks now, used with 7 and 9m clouds - perfect. My wife transitioned to clouds + CS strait after 3+3hrs first lessons and got on a board using CS, she asked me why cabrinha ids have to be so complicated :D
Good-bye... and hello... as always!

I've had mine for a few weeks too, I've been fairly happy with it. It's the lightest thing you ever felt, and paired with the lightest kite, it totally changes experience. It's hyper responsive, driven by the fact you're on a smaller kite, and it's a super light kite to begin with, and this tiny bar. It's super fast, is one thing you notice, but the next thing you notice is how much power you dump when you depower. You quickly learn why there is no reason for a trim strap...sheet out and you dump all wind. This makes jumping challanging, but doable. You can't sheet out when you jump, you'll drop like a rock.

It's fun turning, huge power through the turn, but it's tricky to handle sometimes if you sheet out to power down. When you sheet out, you lose all steering control of the kite, and it flutters like crazy since there are no struts. The flutter is not a problem, but when you have too much power, you have to sheet out, but sheet too far and you lost your steering. Kite size is key, and you def go 2 kites smaller than usual. I'm generally on the 7, but could easily use a 5 on average crissy days. I get blown off the water on my 9.

It's quite cool to have no more chicken loop, no trim, no massive rubber bar ends, and the wrapping of the lines is easy as well. The setup is so much simper than other kites, it's a small pain to need to have the kite weighed down on the beach, but the lightness of the kite more than makes up for it. It's totally fun for freeriding and cruising and probably waves, and it's so light it just won't fall out of the sky. It's a good tool for the crissy bubble.

tried the kite without the bar and was very impressed. the bar looks great.

i'm wondering about how the kite performs in opeed conditions and how the bar works with other kites.

For those interested I cut the hook of my harness to make better use of the Cloud Connection System (CCS). You can see the post here:
