2011 ids bar 08 nemi hp

TL;DR version:
I've been kiting since 2005 and I wouldn't be happy flying your 2011 ids bar and 08 nemi HP setup. You're not going to have a viable way to flag out the kite and self-landing is going to be more difficult.

You didn't specify your experience level and without having done so people are going to assume worst case: inexperienced kiter trying to piece together equipment picked up on ebay or craigslist. Maybe this isn't the case, please feel free to elaborate.

I don't have any experience with either the Cabrinha IDS system or the Nemesis 08 HP.
I took a quick look at the 08 Best manuals and reviewed the IDS system (one of the earliest versions, maybe they changed how it functions by '11).

If I understand the 08 Best bar correctly if you attach your leash to the leash attachment by the chicken loop, activating the safety is as if you depowered the kite all the way and let go of the bar. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE KITE IS 100% DEPOWERED AND CAN STILL FLY IN THE AIR AND PULL/DRAG/YANK YOU HARD

I believe the IDS bar would behave the same way (maybe IDS bar would be even further from where your leash ends)

Here is the problem, the Best bar provides Oh-Shit-Handles on all 4 lines which you would need to either leash into or just hold on with your hand in order to completely flag out the kite. This requires your intervention which might be OK for controlled self landing situations but not OK when the shit hits the fan.

Also, remembering the Nemesis line, and having read through the manual, you're looking at a pretty advanced kite with lots of tuning options and meant for experienced kiters. Even if you had a matched (safer) bar, this might not be the best kite to get started on (maybe you're not?).

I'd really seek confirmation from Best on their forum, and if you get a solid thumbs up, try it out on a really light wind day with someone to help you out if it doesn't work as expected.
