Car Break In - Racetrack

Post by Sandman_510 » Thu Jul 30, 2015 3:46 pm

Heads up!

My car window was smashed while I was out on the water yesterday (Wed July 29) at the Albany Racetrack. !$*(

My wallet was taken out of my pants which were out of site underneath my changing towel, but keys and phone left alone. Glad I left work computer at work!

I was the only one out and sometimes it can be lonely there when no one is out walking their dog.

So be aware for folks there and call the Albany Police if you see something suspicious.

Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear about this. I have been known to be at Racetrack alone so I will be extra careful about what I leave in the car.

After my car was broken into at the coast, I bolted a small lockable metal cash box in my car. Enough room for cell phone and wallet. Not super secure but should slow them down...

Another break in yesterday at the track!

Be careful what you leave in your car.

And call the Albany PD if you see anything suspicious.

Sandman,
Sorry to hear about your car break-in. You don't have a trunk right? For cars without trunks, it may be a good idea to get a roof (rack) box to store your valuables in. For car keys, I like to put mine in a portable box stored hanging under my rear bumper:

Smash & grab is really bad now. Best not to have anything in your car cabin.
