I've only had somebody put their kite through my lines once......they immediately ejected. I was able to control my kite, towed over to the downed kite which was close, got control of it and advised the other kiter to completely release, towed the other kite in. This was at Waddell.
From folks I've talked to that have been in multiple tangles, it's possible in many cases that both can keep control with kites in the air as long as nobody panics. Sometimes releasing prematurely assuming that everything will go out of control can cause more problems than it solves.
But that's only some cases......sometimes you have to eject, and I'm not implying in any way that you guys did it wrong. In any case, tangling in the middle of the Bay is just hairball.
