Re: Mixing kites and bars?
What size is your Overdrive bar (49-57, 48-56 or 57-65cm)?
From what I remember, the 9m Envy is best flown with a 50cm bar.
I can't confirm, but you may have to add/reverse the pig-tails for correct line attachment.
Both Cab and LF bars have single-line safety systems and a relatively low V-point for the front lines, so you should not encounter any issues there.
Best rule for mixing kites with bars:
If you can find a bar that is identical or very close in spec to the stock bar that a given kite has been tuned around, you should not run into any issues. Bar width (length), depower throw length, line length, front line V-point, and the safety system all need to match or function very close.
The only common issue is the line attachment compatibility. This can be easily fixed by reversing or adding the correct pigtails for your line orientation.
Another thing to be aware of is line lengths can vary. Line length is really a personal preference, however most bars are spec'ed with 23-24m lines which is ideal for most kiters and disciplines.

Re: Mixing kites and bars?
Have flown 12 envy on cabhrina bar. Does not come close to envy on lf bar. Cabhrina bar limited the berformance of my envy drastically. Mainly because the throw on the cab bar is short and the throw on the lf bar is huge.

Nice! The only issue I see now is what dboardfox stated about the depower throw length. The LF CPR bar has a lot of depower length that's adjusted by moving the stopper. LF's new Response bar is very similar to the North and Switch bars, but I can't confirm how much length it provides for the depower. From pics, it looks like it's shorter than the CPR and closer the the Cab.supersymetrie wrote:Yoda, the bar is a 48-56.
Since you have a bar that dimensionally should work, your only option now really is to test it. To play it safe, I'd have someone assist/hold you with the launch and be ready to push the release if things don't feel right.
Here's how you'll know if it's NOT feeling right:
With the wind being correct/ideal for the 9m, if the bar is sheeted all the way out (recoil spring fully compressed, i.e. pic below) and it's still pulling a lot, then the depower length is indeed too short. Furthermore if you have to pull a lot of the depower rope in to make it feel right, then it's still not compatible.
