Everybody okay?
Fire truck, paramedic, Coast Guatd helicopter search and rescue, Coast Guard Cutter.
I started heading back to the beach as soon as I saw the chopper, 12 C kite and foil, I still ended up in the helicopter search pattern, was pushed downwind by the turbulent wind generated by the rotors. Not a pleasant experience.

Re: Alameda rescue today, jully 3
I saw some of the drama. From what I understand 2 kiters got wrapped up with each other. One was able to eventually get clear and make it back to the beach. Other kiter was pretty far out, not able to fly the kite, getting pushed down towards the San Mateo bridge by the flood. He/she was far enough out it looked like they were going right past Bay Farm island. Pretty much the whole time they were tangled, one kite was stuck parked in the launch position on the offshore side which helped pull them both further out.

I wasn't able to stick around for the conclusion, but I assume everyone ended up ok. Between the helo, the cutter(!), and fire dept, the other kiter must have gotten picked up.
