Baja UPDATE

Windy as shit yesterday, scary-lit on the 16, too lazy to rig the 13 (hey, it's Mexico). Broke some rigging-gear in some sick gusts. Big breaking swell at Baja Joe's. This place rules! Half of the Bay Area Kite Community is here-- why aren't you? I will promise to leave a small amount of beer for the Christmas rush.

Slightly flatter Sea of Cortez today, but Angie just told me she sees the windline already from her upper deck. Two Advil, a cup of tea, a wisp of fun and the day is on. More to come SportsFans.

Woohoo! Sounds like it's working out pretty good for you Dave!
I'm all of us who aren't there would sure love to be there, but alas, I'm resigned to not having any trips this Winter as the new landscaping and deck needs paying for. "Wisp of fun" - never heard it called that before! ;) I bet it goes good with tea though...

Hey Dave, you picked a good week to get away, it really is winter now with to big wet cold storms this week. But we missed you last friday and staterday. Friday was real good at Alameda. Ollie on the way home berkekely was nuking after alameda shutoff. Went to waddel on saterday very good wind and wave. Just got my new OR drysuit with front entry zipper and gortex breathing panels, it is a wicked metalic dark blue top with all black wast and legs, its on the patio off gasing. Funny thing it got flagged by customs comming from canada and had department of homeland security yellow tape on it to seal it back up.

Needs paying for....

Those are the words that I keep telling myself. I don't think I'll make it to March to start kiting (why were you guys in the water at OB on saturday!!) Looks like I'll be getting a quiver, and some new gear soon.

Just another day at the office. Lit 16 all day (smaller swell, more consistent wind though). Really fun conditions for poleboarders too. Many Bay Area dignitaries showing the ways of the NorCal crew. Instructors and quad runners lining the beach. Delta favorites include Dan and Michelle, Sheldon, Nat and Julie, Sandy (are there any instructors not down here?) Out for now, green (tea) is ready. If you get a wild hair just jump on a plane-- I'll find you a room with a view! More wind today if you believe the local forecast (which consists of looking out at the horizon for the windline.) Late.

Bob, Alex, Brian, and MG, (not to forget Scotty), are all chomping at the bit to try our new quiver of type 7s down your way Dave. Scheduled for 12/17-27....school break, ya know.....

No doubt it rocks from the campground down to Joes...I am trying to figure out the new bars and other stuff to avoid any surprises when I get there. Keep your posts going, as it if fun to read sitting at my desk in the rain!

Already do....I have had the 12 out a few times at crissy, and one sweet sesh on the coast on the 7. Flew the 7 with the wave bar, and liked it more than the type wave in the waves. Alex was out on the 7 meter on his last day at Rio awhile ago, and was skying pretty big for such a punk. He was liking the suicide leash to the 5th line deal with the new bar when he screwed up some unhooked kite loops..

I do not like to proselytize endlessly about the wonderful benefits of our favorite kites on the forum like some of our buds

. Yeah, us old windsurfers know Ken Winner is a sharp guy, and puts out some good product. Same for Mr. Hansen. These guys are know quantities, and you can not go wrong with their gear.

However, it is hard not to be impressed by Simone if you get the chance to chat with him, as some of us did last year in SF. He keeps outdoing himself, and is pretty innovative. I was amazed by the type 6 coming off of Naish kites. So fast, with light bar pressure. The ZH and wave were a step up from that. I think the type 7 takes many of the best qualities from all of his previous work, and provides a very nice ride....hope to get sum down Baja way!
