HELP!! STOLEN RRD KITES!

Post by d.b. » Sat Aug 23, 2008 7:39 am

Hey Everybody. Getting ready to roll out to Sherman only to find my 2 new Obsessions were stolen last night! 9m has red and pink stripes on a white body, the 10.5 has green black stripe on white body. Any news from craigslist or any other outlet source that you find much appreciated.

Got em Back

Post by d.b. » Sat Aug 23, 2008 8:04 am

Got to love the Wife. Upon seeing my despair, she suggested to go for a walk through the neighborhood to look for them. Sho Nuff- I found them around the corner in the front yard! Yeah! See you on the water!

hold on, you kind of just gave us a little teaser here..... This is a crazy story.
-Did you leave them in someones yard when unloading your car and forget to bring them in?
-Do you think your wife was playing a joke on you?
-Where were the kites in the first place? Did someone steal them and then just ditch them in a yard because they though the backpacks were full of somehting better than a ton of nylon?

O.K. I'll recount the events. I went out to my truck that was backed in to my driveway only to find that a thief had opened the camper shell door and stolen my 2 new RRD kites. I came in to tell my wife what had happened and she suggested to go walk the neighborhood to see if the thief had decided that the nice new bags only had a bunch of bright colored fabric inside. Sure enough, the thief had thrown the bags in the front of the 4th house I walked by. I got lucky. Now I'll keep the kites in the FRONT of my truck and put them in some old nylon stuff sacks instead. By the way, the 10.5 Obsession is fantastic! I rode it powered ytdy at Sherman in 16-17 knots. No more 12m for me.

Yah,

When my Subaru got stolen in front of my house, they threw one of the kites in the neighbors yard. I am sure they didn't take the time to pump it up and see the wonderful color cornucopia of....it was just pure yellow. They got the pumps, 2 boards, bars, wetsuits, etc...several pairs of dirty underwear (too bad they weren't messed in!), beach shorts, ,harness, sleeping bag...

Damn varments! Hopefully the thieves are using the bars to tie down trash and old refrigerators..or somthing useful like holding back their pitbull..

Nice ... reminds me of my break-in last year - 5th and Mission garage in SF around midnight - car broken into - multiple windows - and lots of goodies stolen - brand new kites were found ditched in the stairwell, however ... !!
