BEST T&A

Ladies, not sure what your problem is but I love T&A. I would even say it comes before kiting and believe as a straight male this is the way it should be. For you guys yeah I could see how it might be offensive.

Let me tell you a little story:
A guy named Meister buys a resort hotel for about $2 mill many years back. Soon he finds he's got unhappy customers because of a number of problems with the local infrastructure. Since he had lots of money and was a super sucessfull business tycoon he offered to loan the local resort corparation $12 mill to build a state of the art power plant and sewage treament plant. So more time goes by and the Corp starts to fail to even be able to make the payments on the interest much less the principal.... Bla Bla bla
Next thing Meister says to himself is, "the ship is going down unless I step in", so he does. He buys out the remaining shares of the corp and ends up owning the whole damn area, now for another $25 mill. Never wanting to run a resort, he spruces the place up and promptly puts up a for sale sign thinking I'm going to get my money back times two, I'm so frick'n smart!... Years later he finally startes to give in. He startes by firing many of his 350 or so employees because he's sick of being ripped off.....
This $40mill mistake all started out with a smart business guy chasing his first $2 mill, Perhaps before he dies someone will meet his current "asking price".
Sound familar?

It's true, they do seem to just keep on plugging away at it. Even around here where their brand presence is not too big they're probably still selling more kites than many other brands which are either fading away locally or seldom seen anymore or ever. So from that standpoint you're right. It's widely believed they have yet to make a profit, so I guess if you throw enough money at it long enough you can keep things going, but we'll see what the future holds I suppose.
Do they even need to make a profit?? I'm sure Alex could weasle another $30,000,000.00 and hide out in Brazil.

Paul,

Actually I am one of ones who have had no problems with the bars for the most part. I did early in the season experince the collar pin breaking twice, both times under horrific loads caused by error. One time I goofed and got too close to the South Tower at Crissy, kite fell out of sky, shook violently, then powered up hard straight downwind, and POW!, the other time was a downloop transition when I goofed and ended up in the water during the transition and the combo of the looping force and drag broke it again.

Other than that I've used the CC bars all year with no other problems. I replaced the sheeting line on both bars once as I tend to tear them up regardless of brand. I always thought it odd that many others had more problems, mine are still going strong. I believe they've worked hard to fix and deficiencies.

Also, since day one I've used my CC bars with sheeting line running through only one pulley, I never liked the max resistance mode with two pulleys.

Well, the original topic wasn't "Who Loves T&A?" because that would be pointless, it goes without saying, I guess more about the mentality and marketing of a company.....

But for the record, I would probably pass on a pink and black kite....

So it looks like you had the single pulley idea first, Ollie. The new CC bar just has one.

Are they going to send you an 06 demo CC bar to go along with the demo raptures?

Well, it was just one of the two ways of rigging it and I like idea of the CC but still wanted some feedback, so it's a happy medium.

We have a 12m Rap2 for Demo now and after the container arrives at WW in HR are hoping for a couple other sizes and an 06 Bar for Demo.

Snow or water, your choice. ;)

Actually I rode my CC bar almost the whole season. I have it put back together now with amsteel rope. I had my sheeting line break during a jump. It was really my fault. I knew it needed to be replaced, before it broke. I was just lazy.
I didn't fix the bar until the end of the season because I couldn't get some amsteel rope until I went to alameda.
I think I need to ride the CC bar because my elbow's started to hurt when I went to a regular bar. And I also think that the low resistence is the better setting.
