Anyone heard of Torry pines? It's the closest beach to where I'm staying, I wonder if it's kiteable.

Torry pines is the beach Charlie was talking about paragliding at. I think that means the winds are very light there.

If it's windy, you'll find out if kiting is banned there pretty quick. I think kiting is illegal on most of the popular beaches in SD.

ya thats the place
its one of the best spots to take up hang glideing,paraglideing or r.c. gilders
paul iam just try n to get your bro on a kite.
the light wind comes off the ocean and up the hill,makes a standing wave of air to glide on ,then you land on the beach.

Have you had a chance to look at the San Diego form. I forget the site address, but google it. It has all the info you'll need. BTW stinky's is little more than a puddle.
