adding 5th line to 15m Slingshot Fuel

I ama newbia and had real problems relaunching my kite. I am looking at buying a new bar and lines with a 5th line system. The Airush 55cm 5th Line Bar System w/ 30m Lines. Anyone know if this will work with my 15m Slingshot Fuel. Also not sure what line length or bar size is best for me and the kite/conditions.

What year fuel do you have. If it has a 5th attachment it'll be easy. Sounds like a good size bar for the kite, but I like big bars.

Not sure of year but it does have the loop on the leading edge.

You should probably buy the one line from slingshot but any bar will work. That kite like most are designed to work with equal line lenghts when the bar isin it's unhooked position and powered up. So basically if you have a bar just make sure that all 4 lines are tied to one point and when you walk back the lines should all be relatively equal lengths. The fifth line can take a little practice to adjust it right. I never did it on my 15 fuel but I saw a few others do it and they seemed to have to toy around a bit to get it dialed in. You mean buy the 5th line from Slingshot? The problem is that my bar isnt slingshot and I'm not sure how to attach the 5th line to it?

I use the same kite with the slingshot fifth line system. You need to attach a pigtail to the pump leash, and attach that to the fifth line. Best thing is to take it to a shop and they will sell you the parts you need.

What bar are you using now? Does it use a cleat for the sheeting, or does it have a webbing based style for the sheeting?
The reason I ask, is any 4 line bar can be retrofitted to a 5th line bar.
Any 4 line lei kite can be retrofited to a 5th line kite. If your kite already has an attachment point on the leading edge (near the middle strut), then you are good to go.
All you need to do is make a line that comes from the pigtail near the middle strut (disecting the arc of the kite, i.e. the center of the arc) with a length to the pigtails you use for your 4 line attachments. This line you are making is sometimes called a arc line. Now you just need a 5th line, the same length of your 4 standard kite lines.
Depending on your bar's sheeting system, how you attach the 5th line to the bar will be different. If your bar uses a cleat sheeting system:
-buy another cleat and mount it to the back of your existing cleat.
-run your 5th line through the new cleat
-add a leash for this 5th line and attach it in an appropriate location.
I prefer using the standard 4 line leash, but attach this 5th line leash/handle to one brake leader line. This way the 5th line handle is within reach to assist water relaunching. And this way, you still have your normal classic leash, so the chances of your 5th line sawing your kite in two (like in the surf) is minimal.
If your bar has a webbing sheeting system, (haven't tried this yet, but I think it should work) mount a cleat on the back of the webbing at a place where the sheeting of the webbing isn't affected. And do the same as above.
