That was a joke, Rich. I shoulda put "magic" in quotes.

Any, it's blowing 37 here on the west side and 17 at Folsom. The forecast today was that the strongest wind would be over here -- which is exactly what happened the last time you guys had a good day on Folsom. It was gusting to 50 at my house that day.

Hopefully it will come up a little more over there but not too much, and stick around until it warms up a bit in the afternoon.

See ya on the "magic" water.

It says 10M, but it's really a 9.

Can you say NUKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check todays wind stats here- http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobe ... banner=off

The smallest kite I had today was my 9m and when I got there a few guys were WAY over powered on their 9 and 10m kites... and these guys were 30-50lbs heavier than me.

No kiting for me :( .

Never seen Folsom so lit-up... and all day too!

Too bad you didn't stick around Mark! A bunch of us went back on the water around 3ish. I personally had a great ride even with the gusty stuff. I was on my 9 and it was just about right for 70% of the time. I had to leave at 4:30 though, so it wasn't a very long session.

I went out around 3 on my 9 Vegas and it was perfect for almost two solid hours. I've never been so powered up on that kite; it was lot of fun.

When is it not gusty when it's blowing over 30 mph? It was totally manageable -- I only adjusted my sheet strap three or four times in two hours. All in all, it was very similar to a nukin' session at Sherman. The swell was about 4 ft., and there were areas where it was rolling like a shorebreak.

I got some of the biggest airs I've ever had when I boosted then rode a gust that hit me halfway up.

Folsom is blowin' today. http://cleardarksky.com/c/FlsmLkCAkey.html?1

It's blowin' from the N and is already around 16+. Considering a cold water / Thanks Giving Day session... anyone else up for it?

If not, HAPPY THANKS GIVING to all here!!!! :)

Mark, did you make it out? I was out from about 1pm and it was great! NWS says it was blowing 16-19 and I was totally powered on my 14 Rhino. Awesome time! I have lots to give thanks for tonight. Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Shuttles available upwind from Pittsburg and Sherman all summer. Come see what kiting west has to offer.
