Granate Bay is at the end of Douglas Bl.
Once there you go to the South end of the parking lot at the boat ramp.
Don't forget to pay the "Iron Ranger" as it's a hefty ticket if you get cought.

K. give me a call and I will be happy to give you directions.

Here are the directions if you're coming from Sac. http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=Park+ ... &z=11&om=1

If you're on the hwy 50 side, take Folsom blvd straight across the new bridge to Folsom-Auburn. Take that until you hit Douglas and turn right. That will get you to the park. Once inside take the first right, then first right and drive until you hit the "old" boat ramp. There is a beach around there and hopefully you'll see kites.

Feel free to call me on my cell if you need help- 916-719-1742. I'll be out doing errands for now but hope to head out around 1pm.

Sorry for the false alarm folks. It looked like it might happen but now looks like not. I guess I'm as bad forecasting as Rich. #-o Maybe a north wind day coming up after this storm?

Dave & Rich, Thanks to both of ya for the directions! But it seemed like I got a late start this morning. I took one last look at the posts at about 11:10am (just missed ya) and took the chance on Alameda. Luck was on our side. We got some! Payed the price of wringing out or gear in the garage though (small price). Dave I remember meeting you in person out on Sherman Island and Rich I look forward to meeting you in person someday. Thanks again for the heads-up, Kevin & Ty.....

Could be a good afternoon to hit Granite Bay... winds are from the S @ 10+ right now. Very tempted to check it out.

Mark, I'd be up for it if the wind picks up. According to ik, the storm wind should be stronger tomorrow. But then again, the temps are also supposed to be lower. I'm a little less tempted to freeze my ass off given I'll be in La Ventana in two weeks! :supz:

Looks like a decent chance of a north wind day on Folsom tomorrow. And as a bonus it might get up to 60 degrees! Who's up for it? I need to clean the salt off my gear after La Ventana anyway. I'll post the latest as it happens. Pray for wind!

Oh Dave,

I'm looking out my window a what looks like SNOW on all the roofs!

Skiing? Kiteing? What's a guy to do????

Yes, I will be out there with you if it does decide to blow but I will wait till it's at least 40 to hit the water (that's temp not wind speed)
