Stolen Kite

Post by alison » Mon Feb 26, 2007 9:18 am

My brand new WindWing 7m Rampage II was stolen out of my car last night along with the bar and lines and pump. The canopy is yellow and the LE is Orange.

I've never even had a chance to fly it b/c I had to work yesterday.

There really aren't too many of these out there, especially 7s. Please let me know if you see it anywhere for sale.

Thanks
Alison

jeez. that really sucks. can you give us a bit more info on what happened? where was your car parked? was your gear visible in the car?

keep an eye out on craigslist for it . . .and you might want to file a police report too . . .i've seen it happen several times when the stuff starts appearing on CL . . .my friend had a bike stolen once, and then found it on craigslist and showed up with the cops.

Thieves suck. Sorry about your loss.
Also, check out the swap meets for your gear...

They were trying to steal my smashed up, old, falling apart car and when they coudln't jimmy the ignition they took the cd player and my kiting gear. You couldn't see the kiting gear unless you were actually inside the car. The back windows were tinted very dark blue and it was covered with flat boxes and my innertube.

I have filed a police report and been looking on Craigslist. I'm so ready to show up with the cops. I remember reading about that guy.

Windwing has just told me that I had the only 7m Ramp II (Orange and yellow) in the area so if you see it anywhere, there's a really high probablility that's the person who stole it, or bought it from the person who stole it.

Thanks Everyone
Alison

Was your car parked in SF? This seems to happen a lot there!

It was parked in Berkeley at Addison & California where it sat completely unmolested while I was gone for 3 weeks. I've seen the crime map for my area and it's supposed to be fairly quiet right where I live. This is so bizarre. It used to be that I had all the gear but the board. Now I have a board (w/name and phone # clearly printed) and no other gear.

I have no insurance either and there's no way I can afford to replace all this so I'll be sitting on the beach this season.

This just sucks.
