Wow. Thanks for all the support! You guys rock!

I have to admit that I was so stoked on my new kite and gear that I clean forgot I still have my old one somewhere. It's an 05 Wind Wing Rage 12M so I'm not doing too bad. And I still have my old bar (minus all lines), and my old Dakine harness that threatens to break my ribs whenever there's anything like real wind. So I've been thinking that if I can find a used wetsuit and booties for a decent price, I don't have to sit on the beach this season. I perked up considerably when I realized this.

Anybody with a women's size 8 or 10 4/3 wetsuit and booties they can part with cheap?

I was thinking about those %*&#$%?!@ criminals today and I'd bet they have no idea what that thing is. They probably pulled it out of that really cool backpack and sat there looking at their living room full of nylon scratching their heads. I just hope they don't ruin it putting it back in. And imagine what their living room looks like if they unrapped the lines.

Even so, I'm all over Craigslist.

Thanks so much. I'll definitely be out there even if it's on my old stuff.

yeah, you should be able to get back up and kiting for pretty cheap. wise in SF has some new last years wetsuits for $99 (4/3).

also, you've got an 05 12m which in my book is still pretty new, all you need is a smaller kite like an 8m, and i bet you could find a used one of those for $300 or so (they're cheap when they're small).

and think about it this way, you'll learn on a crappy used kite, abuse it a bit, and soon you'll get your stolen kite back and then you won't wreck it while learning.

on another note, do people have renters insurance? does that cover this sort of thing? Or do certain auto insurances cover this?

Renter's insurance and full auto ins would cover it. I have niether. But some credit card companies offer some weird guarrantes so I'm gonna check mine as a long shot.

Who is wise?

Would a 7M North Torch be a good kite for me? I'm 135lbs.

Thanks

I don't know how you'd like it but I can sell you my 06 rhino that is pretty much brand new for $300. If you don't like it there are so many people that have last year's gear for sale super cheap that I'm sure you won't have trouble getting back up on the water in time for the season start.

Hmm, Naish makes kites named Torch. 7m north sounds good, however Torch for a beginner, not so much.

Ahem, yes, that would be a Naish Torch.

Any chance a bar and lines come with?

How big is the Rhino?

Thanks

full auto insurance generally will not cover anything that isn't permanently attached to your vehicle.

says the guy who had his car stolen.. twice.. :(

The one thing they didn't get was my brand new (used) Underground 137. I had it in the apt 'cause I'm replacing the old skeleton straps with new skeletons whenever my imperial allen keys come in the mail (the Brit ebay seller decided I really wanted american).

Soo anyway, I'm thinkin bigger is better on the kite. Especially since I've only ever stood up on a 161 (in Boracay, woohoo, yet that's another reason why I'm so strapped at the moment.

I'm really hoping Sander will sell me one of those 9M Rampages he has. They can be modified to me pretty similar to what I had. According to WW I might even be overpowered on it but we get such light wind out at Alameda, I'd like to try it. I'' sell it back if my kite ever comes home. Really Sander, I will. Pretty please.
