Well it's about 7:30 and the forcast looks really good. Not only does it look like it will blow but it should get better in the afternoon and should be in the 60's (water will still be cold though)

So I hope to see you all out on the lake, keep that phone chain going and I really advise against anyone going out alone....

What's the worst that could happen, Rich? If you self-launched or landed and screwed up, you'd only fly a few hundred feet before you slammed into the Dyke...

Folsom is going off. We're at Dyke 8. Should be a good turnout today.

I went out to Folsom for the north wind today. As I was getting my gear form the car, the wind shifted from N to E and gusted from 14mph to 30+ in a nanosecond as a storm cell blew apart in the distance. One poor guy on a big C kite got lofted towards the levee but luckily pulled his 5th line at the last minute... scary. Everyone was OK but I think there was one board casualty-- lost somewhere. Thank God for modern safety systems, but lots of depower sure is nice too.

All I have to say about that is read the weather forecast before you go kiting in Sacto. Today's clearly stated thunderstorms and showers; meaning nasty cells that come out of nowhere, hit hard, and disappear. Wait until all the clouds are gone before you go kiting.

Awesome day today on Folsom! No clouds but the wind fluctuated between high teens/low 20s. The bonus was my first ride on my new '07 Rhino 12m. The kite rocks and the depower was definitely needed today.

Sorry Chris, I didn't find your board.
