Nice shots! Let's hope for more wind next week.

Great party, too.

If there's no wind, we could just boat everyone up the river, put them on their smallest kites, and see how many people actually make it back to the launch without dropping their kites. That was kinda how it felt at the end there.

Thanks again guys for organizing the race, it was fun. If it wasn't for the fact that Ed and I jumped the gun on the start and the wind died and I was on a small kite and a crappy board, I would have really kicked some butt. The sucker puffs before the race fooled me, but not next time. Finding myself running out of wind and getting passed, one by one, by everyone was a low point, but hey, that's racing! O:)

Let's get this straight: you jumped the start line, the wind died, your kite was too small, your board was crappy, there were sucker puffs and you ran out of wind?

Whew, too many excuses for a PRO athlete! (You didn't mention that two girls waxed 'ya, upwind and down... or was it three?)

As for why I was such a LOSER? What he said!

Smokymon,

Thanks for the Ski, damn near needed it at the end ...Big thanks to Maui Mike for the Q... Would like to keep it going. Need to plan a skipper meeting around five on Saturday so we can see if there is enough interest, and wind..Can also collect the entry fee, so we can support our eating and drinking habits.. Will see ya Saturday....

Who you calling a pro?! Yes, well, we should get the record straight here. Yes, it was all three girls who waxed me, unless there were more girls racing. Michelle, Sandy and Cheryl all passed me, one by one, along with everyone else. Let's see, any other excuses I can come up with? Probably not, but next time I will go out on the biggest kite I can hold down along with whatever good board i can poach from an unsuspecting crowd prior to the race. We'll see how it goes next time. See, I'm just used to blazing upwind in fierce and windy conditions. I wouldn't do good at racing in San Diego.

But I like the spirit of the Sherman Race(s)!

As Ed said, huge thanks to Maui Mike for the awesome BBQ and good times afterwards, it was super fun. He always does these great bbq's, but next time we have to collect and a fund and stuff some money in his pocket!

It's looking like Sat. night might be the only wind we get this weekend at Sherman.

Paul - I thought by now we would have cured you of the pessimism bug? I guess we need to deliver more meds;-)

Fri night will be sweet and warm, yummy......
Sat will be a very nice wind day, with double ebb
Sunday the wind will be super good, on the coast that is.....

So you kite had Saturday, race hard sat night, party hard at night, wake up, coffee, road trip to the promised land.......

Take your meds, and get some, Z.
