La Nina
Looks to me La Nina this fall/winter.
Another way to look at this, is Tursiops truncatus/bottlenose dolphin/aka Flipper. One of most repetitive memorable experiences, during warm water events they come in close to shore, what I've done in past is to stop, kite high and wait, they usually check you out, and then when you're on a plane they ride so near and under your board, you can't believe it and they look you eye to eye.

I see dolphins at OB all the time. What I'm talking about recently may not be a shark but it is definitely not a dolphin...
I saw a 900 lbs or so Sea Lion pop out of the water with a 20 lbs Salmon in his mouth under the GGB last week, that was something else! Discovery Channel shit right in the city!

If you see a shark, you probably did. It's the ones you don't see that are the problem! I saw one in Manzanita, OR this summer but it didn't phase me. After surfing the CA coast for years, I've seen my share of sharks, whales, dolphins, and BIG seals that scared the sh*t out of me. Sharks? Not to worry --Kooks? then worry!
