Windhorny, Did you try updating your quicktime player? This is compressed with a special codec that you can only view with the latest Quicktime7 player. The link for it is above the video. Be sure to "UN"check the itunes boxes or you'll download that as well. If you can't get it to work I'll create a flash version tonight.

give it a few more weeks for the season to get started in full and we'll start sending you PMs with where to be and when....

i take it you live near Santa Cruz? (sherman would be a long haul, but i suppose we could reimburse you with beers and bbqs too...)

Beautiful shots! Just a few constructive comments: Most non-kiters (and non-wave kiters, too) tend to focus on the riders as they head OUT against the waves and jump over them. But what kiting in the waves is really about is riding the waves back in, just like surfing. Popping over the wave is just something we have to do to be able to ride back in (many of us actually to minimize our air when doing it, because we lose ground when we go too high). When you are shooting someone dropping into a wave for the ride in, and then you edit the shot right when they are cutting back against it, it's like coitus interruptus. All this is especially true when someone is riding a directional board (pointy like a surfboard).

If you want great shots of people getting big air and doing tricks, then 3rd Ave. and Sherman are the best places for it -- the freestyle guys will blow your mind when you see THEM getting air. Meanwhile, if you happen to be shooting (and editing) footage from the coast again, us waveriders would love, love, love to see you hold those waveriding shots right on the riders until they finish doing cutbacks and drop off the back of the wave.

Thanks again.

Wow. thanks Bulldog. Exactly what I need if I ever hope to lay the hammer down - input.

Windhorny, being a musician you'll appreciate this. I actually paid for the rights to use that piece. Doesn't really matter since it's just for you guys, but this is practice and practice aint worth the time if it's half wrong.

GoGo-

Again some wonderful shots, and editing here...Pablito has some valid points regarding wave riding...but I still loved the movie, nevertheless. I only noticed the second time I watched it you worked in some "slo-mo".

Can't wait to see more,

Tim
