If you don't have enough money, it is for sure better to have less. Just make sure the bars you have fit with the kites.So its better to have a seperate bar/lines for every kite you have?
Many donít mix without modifications, like the last case I had was kook proof connection that are opposite on two separate brands. I wish there were some generally accepted conventions for bars to make them more interchangeable.

Hello downhiller: Be stoked on "Bay Area's" offer. You can have a bar made for your free kite and rock it now and sell it complete later. Good deal all in all.
It would be nice to have one bar that works for every kite in your quiver, but thats just not the reality. As you progress and do your "homework" you will realize just how many types of kites and variations there are. I learned the hard way and spent a fair amount of money doing it. It is a game of testing lots of gear over the years and finding what works best for your style and ability. Then ideally you will have found one quiver of kites of the same model, just different sizes with bars to match. Cheers!
