You guys raced last night? Damn! I looked at the wind readings, saw the fog blowing through the gate from my office downtown and decided to save the gas. What kind of gear was everyone riding - big kites, big boards?

I guess that goes to show that I need to learn a lot about kiting at Crissy. Even under the worst conditions, apparently there's still some wind to be had!

Just a heads up, never follow the Crissy Field wind readings, they're deceiving. Treasure Island is more of an accurate read. Yes, it was light at the beach at first, but just before we all launched, it picked up to 15 or so.

We had a really big crowd, I would guess the biggest yet. Anyway, we got 3 full races in with solid wind. Outside, it was easily blowing 23-24 mph. By the last race, it had started dying, and many weren't able to finish, and almost nobody made it back to the beach, but in any case, it's always better to assume there will be racing. We've had races in MUCH worse wind than that. Luckily I can see the caps from my office so I knew there would be wind.

Next time.
